If you consider yourself a serious player on PS4, you will know that quality headphones can make a difference during your gaming experience. These will allow you to experiment and appreciate every sound detail, keep clear the lines of communication with your teammates and stay comfortably on your head for hours while you immerse yourself in your favorite games.

In this article, constantly updated, we have collected what we consider the best ps4 headphones in circulation ; we classified them based on our tests.

Best Headphones for PS4 or PlayStation 4 Headsets in 2020

HyperX Cloud Alpha

Best Headphones for PS4 in 2019

The HyperX Cloud Alpha are the perfect headphones for those who want to spend less than $150 . The flexibility of the design makes them ideal for consoles, mobile phones and PCs and the audio quality is far superior than the other headphones we’ve tested in the same price range.

Of course, the competition is fierce, but we take the liberty of saying that right now they are the best option in this price range.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Extremely robust construction
  • Comfortable to wear for hours
  • Excellent sound quality for the price
Cons
  • No spare pavilions
  • No 7.1 surround sound

Astro A40 TR + MixAmp Pro TR

ps4 wireless headset

Definitely high price for these  Astro A40 TR , but not exaggerated since they are considered the best gaming gaming headsets for PS4. Strong points are the Dolby Surround 7.1 technology, which boasts 6 audio channels and the Mix Amp.

The Astro A40s offer deep and accentuated bass, perfect insulation, unparalleled comfort and low weight, just 324 grams. Furthermore, the general quality of the headphones offers extreme durability, as does comfort thanks to the new generation of breathable fabric padding. The fact that we can change the design from open to closed and vice versa is innovative.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Comfortable, customizable design
  • Solid construction
  • Leading sound in the price range
  • MixAmp Pro TR is an excellent extra
Cons
  • Decent microphone but not up to the price
  • Gaming design not for everyone

Sony Playstation Gold Wireless Headset

One step ahead of the old Gold Wireless, the new  Sony Playstation Gold Wireless is the cheapest wireless option on the market . The sound output is ideal for gaming, there is so much dynamism and it is engaging, this is also thanks to the 7.1 surround sound. You can also connect these headphones with PSVR for rich VR sound experience.

Being “cheap” for the category there is no shortage of defects: for example, the autonomy is around 7 hours according to our tests. But that’s the price to pay if you don’t want to spend at least twice as much on a PS4 wireless headset.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Maximum comfort
  • Solid construction
  • Superb sound performance for the category
  • Power bank case
Cons
  • Controls to be improved
  • Asynchrony Audio / Video

Sennheiser GSP 500

They are Sennheisers and you can hear them. Perfect for music , but especially for gaming. The only flaw, which is however subjective, could be a design perhaps too massive. Of course the price is not very cheap, but you pay what you take.

Very particular to find an open-back design in a gaming headset, which brings a new way of perceiving our games. The soundstage is very wide, while the soundproofing is compromised by the design itself.

We therefore recommend these Sennheiser GSP 500s for those who play in their own room / office, alone, without worrying about bothering someone with the sound coming out of their headphones. Alternatively, we recommend the more expensive  Astro A40 TRs.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Robust construction, maximum comfort
  • Excellent sound performance, engaging soundstage
  • Innovative open design in the gaming industry
Cons
  • Little internal / external soundproofing to consider
